Canadians pull out of Altenberg bobsled World Cup

Canada has withdrawn its bobsled team from this weekend's World Cup stop in Altenberg, Germany, citing safety concerns on the track.
The move comes one day after one of its bobsledders was airlifted and two others also were hospitalized after a crash during a training run. The injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.
Canadian coach Tom de la Hunty says he is "simply not comfortable" sending his team's sleds down the track this weekend.
The fourth World Cup stop of the season for bobsled and skeleton started Friday in Altenberg, considered by many sliders to be one of the toughest tracks in the world.
