Ligety to defend WCup lead at classic Swiss race

Ted Ligety is quietly having another excellent season in giant slalom, though his closest challenger Marcel Hirscher is hogging the World Cup headlines.
Ligety is the current World Cup and world champion in his specialist event, and leads the discipline standings going into the classic Adelboden race on Saturday.
However, it's Hirscher who heads the overall points table after the Austrian breakout star won the Zagreb slalom on Thursday.
Ligety says he's in "a good spot in GS but Hirscher is not far behind and he has been skiing outstanding in everything."
The pair have combined to win three of the four World Cup giant slalom races this season.
