Holder of 100 millionth e-invoice will win iPad 2: MOF

Taipei, Jan. 3 (CNA) The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced Tuesday that the 100 millionth electronic invoice was issued by a convenience store on Dec. 27, and the consumer holding the e-invoice will be given an iPad 2. According to the Financial Data Center (FDC) under the MOF, the e-invoice's number was YG85644046 and it was issued at 12:30 p.m. at an OK Mart convenience store on Dadong Road in Taipei's Shilin District. The FDC said that the customer spent NT$140. The MOF began encouraging stores to issue environmentally friendly e-invoices last year, and, to draw the public's attention to the green policy, the ministry decided to give away an iPad 2 to the lucky holder of the 100 millionth e-invoice. The FDC has posted a notice at the convenience store in Shilin, but so far no winner has come forward to collect the prize. The person with the winning e-invoice should contact the FDC's e-invoice promotion project unit on (02) 27631833, ext. 4379, said an FDC official. President Chain Store Corp., which runs 7-Eleven convenience stores in Taiwan, was the first to issue e-invoices of all the convenience store companies in Taiwan on Dec. 19. It was followed by OK Mart at the end of last year. The nation's other two major convenience store chains, Family Mart and Hi-Life, are scheduled to start issuing e-invoices by the middle of the year. (By Eva Feng and Nell Shen) enditem/npw
