O'Connell to captain Ireland in Six Nations

Paul O'Connell will replace injured center Brian O'Driscoll as Ireland captain for the upcoming Six Nations tournament.
With O'Driscoll set to miss the whole of the northern hemisphere competition with a shoulder problem, Ireland coach Declan Kidney has turned to O'Connell, a lock who has previous experience as captain of both his country and the 2009 British & Irish Lions.
Kidney says "Paul has always been one of (the) leaders in the squad and I was delighted that he accepted the honor and the responsibilities that it brings."
Ireland opens its Six Nations campaign on Feb. 5 with a home match against Wales, a rematch of the World Cup quarterfinal in New Zealand which the Welsh won 22-10.
