Haiti: 38 Haitian migrants buried in Cuba

A Haitian official says that 38 migrants who died in a shipwreck off the coast of Cuba have been buried in that country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Lamothe told The Associated Press on Thursday that the bodies were buried in Cuba because they were in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Eighty-seven others were rescued and are due to be repatriated to the northern city of Cap-Haitien Thursday.
The Cuban government said in a communique that its civil defense force found the migrants Saturday in a shipwrecked boat just off the eastern coast.
Haitian President Michel Martelly sent out his condolences to the grieving families and urged compatriots to avoid illegal migration.
