Authorities in the Dominican Republic say they are looking for a 20-year-old former soldier who posed as a doctor at a public hospital last week to make money off patients.
Health Minster Bautista Rojas said Thursday that Francis Ciprian Arias did not treat any patients, but asked them for money for various services.
Hospital Director Rolando Baez said Ciprian likely went unnoticed because the hospital receives as many as 800 visiting doctors a week.
Rojas said Ciprian was discharged from the army several months ago because of a similar incident at another hospital where he provided security. Ciprian was never charged in that case.
