3 banned for rugby league doping cover-up

Rugby league player Martin Gleeson has been banned for three years in a doping scandal that also resulted in suspensions for two officials at his former club side Hull FC.
UK Anti-Doping says Gleeson _ a former Britain international center _ tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine in May and was originally given a two-year ban.
The 31-year-old Gleeson later admitted lying about the circumstances leading to his positive test, implicating Hull chief executive James Rule and conditioning coach Ben Cooper in a coverup.
UKAD said Gleeson, whose contract with Hull was terminated in September, has accepted a three-year ban, half of which is suspended.
Cooper was banned for two years, with half suspended, and Rule received a two-year ban. Both men are also no longer at the northern club.
