Adu to train with Spanish club with eye on move

Major League Soccer player Freddy Adu will train with Rayo Vallecano with an eye to joining the Spanish club.
Rayo sporting director Felipe Minambres says Adu, who plays for the Philadelphia Union in the North American league, will train with Rayo for 12 days starting Friday.
Adu, who has played for the United States national team, confirmed his trip to Spain through his Twitter account.
The 22-year-old Adu previously played for European clubs Benfica, Monaco, Aris and Cauykur Rizespor of Turkey.
Adu wouldn't be the first American player to sign with Rayo. Former U.S. goalkeeper Kasey Keller previously played for the topflight club.
