Ex Albanian spy chief wanted for torture missing

British police say a former Albanian intelligence chief wanted for torture and kidnapping is missing in the UK.
Ilir Nazmi Kumbaro, 58, failed to appear at his extradition hearing last week in London. An arrest warrant has been issued.
Scotland Yard appealed to the public Wednesday for any information on his whereabouts. Authorities believe friends are hiding him in the UK.
Albanian authorities say one of Kumbaro's alleged victims was a father of five who hasn't been seen alive since 1995.
Using the name Shaqa Shatri, Kumbaro was given UK residency rights in 1996.
Albanian authorities say he posed as a Kosovar refugee.
