Climate change seminar held in Taipei

Taipei, Nov. 7 (CNA) Experts from around the world shared their insights and research on global climate change and air pollution problems at a seminar held in Taipei Monday. The seminar -- "2011 Air Pollution & Climate: A Science-Policy Dialogue in Asia" -- drew 30 experts from the United States, India, China, France, South Africa and other countries to offer their perspective on international initiatives in the field and the impact of climate change on air quality. The seminar's host, Taiwan's Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), said it would publish a formal report summarizing the seminar that can be used by the government to help it devise policies to counter climate change. Other groups that helped organize the event were Academia Sinica's Research Center for Environmental Changes, National Sun Yat-Sen University's Asia Pacific Ocean Research Center, National Taiwan University, the Stockholm-based International Geosphere Biosphere Programme and the Seattle-based International Global Atmospheric Chemistry.
