Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A low pressure system moving over China will bring widespread scattered showers from Laos and northern Vietnam to the Chinese and Mongolian borders on Monday. The heaviest rainfall will likely be over Guiyang and Chongqing. Beijing will be overcast with high temperatures near 15 degrees Celsius, while Hong Kong will be rainy with highs near 27 C.
To the east, high pressure will continue to dominate from eastern China, over the Yellow and East China Seas, into the Sea of Japan. This will bring more dry and sunny conditions to these areas. Shanghai and Tokyo will see a few patchy clouds with highs near 21 C, while Seoul will be overcast with highs in the mid-teens C.
In Australia, a ridge of high pressure over most of the country will bring more dry and warm conditions as it pushes moisture away to the south and north. However, another low pressure system will move over the Great Australian Bight, creating scattered showers over the surrounding coasts. Expect some scattered thunderstorms to pop up in the southeast. Sydney will be rainy with a chance of thunderstorms and highs in the mid-20s C.
