A Brazilian judge is ordering about 50 students to end their occupation of an administration building at the University of Sao Paulo.
The ruling by Judge Simone Rodrigues Casoretti is posted on the court's website Friday. It says police can use force if they do not leave peacefully within 24 hours.
The students occupied the building on Nov.1 to protest the arrest of three students for marijuana possession. They also demand that police officers not be allowed to patrol the campus.
The occupation of the building followed a clash with police on Oct. 27.
Sao Paulo police started patrolling the university about two months ago to curb thefts.
