MLB stars defeat Taiwan team 3-2

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — Washington Nationals first baseman Michael Morse led an MLB All-Star team to a 3-2 win over the Taiwan national team Saturday in the fourth game of their five-game series.

Morse singled in two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to provide the margin of victory in the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung.

The MLB squad has won all four games of the series.

Ryan Roberts of the Arizona Diamondbacks led off the inning with a walk and went to third on a double to the right center field gap by Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees before Morse's hit.

The two teams close out their series on Sunday, also in Kaohsiung.

Morse's teammate, Chien-Ming Wang, is expected to get the starting pitching nod for the Taiwanese.

Starting MLB pitcher Dillon Gee of the New York Mets surrendered one run on five hits over five innings of work.

Morse also starred in game three, belting two extra base hits, including a towering solo homer over the center field wall.
