Metals end week lower on European worries

Metals are ending the week lower on doubts that European authorities will be able to contain that region's financial crisis.
Copper for December delivery fell nearly 1 percent Friday to close at $3.5645 per pound. It ended the week down 4 percent. Other metals also ended the week lower.
Gold was the lone exception. Gold prices often rise during times of economic turmoil. Gold for December delivery fell $9, or less than 1 percent, to settle at $1,756.10 per ounce. Gold is still up 1 percent for the week.
Metals rallied last month on hopes that European finance ministers had crafted a plan to contain the region's financial problems. But uncertainty returned this week because of political turmoil in Greece.
