Police: Car bombing hits Nigeria military office

Police say a powerful car bomb has exploded at a three-story building used as a military office and barracks in northeast Nigeria amid a string of similar attacks.
Yobe state police tells The Associated Press the attack happened at a special military police building in the state capital of Damaturu. They say two soldiers were injured in the attack Friday afternoon.
Damaturu is about 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of Maiduguri, where at least four bombs detonated Friday in a wave of attacks that included a suicide bombing of a military base.
There was no claim of responsibility, but blame immediately fell on the sect known as Boko Haram, which has staged targeted assassinations and bombings around Nigeria's north.
