Australian teenager Bernard Tomic came back from a set down to upset fifth-seeded Mardy Fish 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of the Shanghai Masters on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Tomic broke the No. 9-ranked American twice to win the second set in 31 minutes. Fish fought off three more break points in the third set before Tomic was finally able to convert on his fourth chance to go up 5-4.
Tomic reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon this year and broke into the top 50 in the rankings this week at No. 49.
