Estonian president sworn in for 2nd term

Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has been sworn in for a second five-year term following his overwhelming re-election in August.
Ilves took oath of office on Monday in the 101-seat Parliament where 73 lawmakers had backed his re-election, 25 voted for a challenger, and three votes were discarded.
The 57-year-old, U.S.-educated Ilves is Estonia's third president since the small Baltic nation regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
The August vote was the first time a presidential candidate has managed to get the required two-thirds majority. Previous presidential elections were decided by an electoral college after lawmakers failed to select a winner.
