Something about New Zealand agrees with the Welsh rugby team.
Wales reached the World Cup semifinals for the second time on Sunday with a 22-10 win over Ireland in New Zealand's capital city, 24 years after doing so for the first time and also on New Zealand soil.
It has a New Zealand-born coach, Warren Gatland; the third in a line of New Zealand coaches who have led the Welsh and which includes the current All Blacks coach Graham Henry and his assistant Steve Hansen. And they share with New Zealand the love of rugby as a people, populations of similar sizes that embrace the game as a national sport.
