England captain Cook braced for new ODI rules

England captain Alastair Cook hopes to use two practice games ahead of the limited-overs series against India to adjust to new rules introduced by the ICC.
Cook says Wednesday he is not sure what effect the revised rules, which include the use of two new balls in one-dayers, will have in Indian conditions but that "the side which adapts to the rule changes better will have an advantage."
The new rules also include a restriction on when to take powerplays, a ban on runners for injured batsmen and tighter application of dismissals for obstructing the field.
England, which beat India 3-0 in the teams' recent one-day series at home, plays five one-dayers and one twenty20 game during its tour of the country.
