Paris court resumes trial of German doctor

The trial of a retired German doctor accused of killing his stepdaughter has resumed after a six-month break because he was hospitalized with heart problems.
Dieter Krombach was kidnapped in Germany and brought to France on the orders of the victim's French father.
Fifteen-year-old Kalinka Bamberski was found dead in 1982 at Krombach's home in Germany. The girl and her mother had moved in with Krombach after the girl's parents separated.
Looking frail in a tie-less dark suit and walking with a cane, Krombach appeared in court Tuesday. His trial, in its fourth day, was suspended in April because doctors said he needed rest.
The 76-year old former cardiologist had a stent inserted into his heart and then later suffered another bout of ill-health in June.
