NATO removes Serb roadblock in Kosovo's north

American and Greek peacekeepers have used a bulldozer to remove rocks placed by Serbs to block a road in Kosovo's north in response to attempts to set up customs on the tense border with Serbia.
Associated Press Television video showed dozens of armed peacekeepers, many in riot gear, deploying on Friday to secure an area close to the Jarinje border crossing.
NATO and EU police took control of the crossing to enable Kosovo customs officials to work at the border.
The move is considered by minority Serbs as an attempt to force them into submitting to ethnic Albanian-dominated authorities.
Serbs reject working with Kosovo officials and consider the region part of Serbia despite its 2008 declaration of independence.
