Australian loses extradition case over Balkan wars

An Serbian-Australian dual citizen who was a Serb paramilitary commander during the 1990s Balkan wars has lost his latest court case in a five-year legal battle against extradition to Croatia to face war crime charges.
The full-bench of the Federal Court on Friday rejected Dragan Vasiljkovic's appeal against extradition. The 56-year-old who is also known as Capt. Dragan and Daniel Snedden has a month to appeal to the High Court.
If Australia's highest court will not hear an appeal, Vasiljkovic can be extradited.
Vasiljkovic acknowledges serving as a Serb commander during the 1991-93 Serbo-Croat war, but has repeatedly denied committing war crimes.
