Team Germany honors Yaroslavl victim Dietrich

The German Ice Hockey Federation is retiring the Germany No. 20 shirt that belonged to Robert Dietrich, one of the players recently killed in a plane crash in Russia.
The Sept. 7 crash of a chartered Yak-42 plane near Yaroslavl in western Russia killed 28 players for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, a top Russian ice hockey team, as well as two coaches and seven other staff members. The victims included Dietrich.
Federation president Franz Reindl says retiring his shirt was "the last honor" for Dietrich.
The German news agency dapd said around 1,000 fans joined friends and relatives in a memorial for Dietrich in his hometown.
