Pardew warned by FA after improper conduct charge

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has received a warning by the Football Association after being found guilty of improper conduct for speaking about a referee ahead of an English Premier League match.
The FA didn't specify which comment prompted the charge, although it is widely believed to stem from Pardew's plea to referee Howard Webb to protect midfielder Joey Barton from being targeted by Sunderland players in the Aug. 20 match.
Pardew denied the charge.
The FA says Tuesday "the case was found proven and Pardew was warned as to his future conduct."
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson fell foul of the same FA rule last season after he praised Webb on the eve of a match against Chelsea.
