Dalglish plays down fears over Carroll's fitness

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says fears over Andy Carroll's lifestyle have been blown out of proportion, insisting the England striker is as fit as anyone at the club.
England manager Fabio Capello advised Carroll last week to curb his drinking if he wanted to rediscover the kind of form that persuaded Liverpool to sign him for 35 million pounds (then $56 million) from Newcastle in January.
Dalglish says Carroll "appreciates Capello's advice" but believes the striker's level of fitness "would stand up against anybody's."
Dalglish said Thursday that "I think Andy is wiser than a lot of the people who write about him and I don't think his lifestyle is anything like they'd like it to be to get stories."
