Swiss court dismisses Sion's UEFA appeal

A Swiss court has dismissed FC Sion's attempt to be reinstated in the Europa League a week after UEFA threw the club out for fielding ineligible players.
A regional court in Martigny on Thursday rejected the Swiss side's appeal on the grounds that it didn't have jurisdiction over the case.
Sion president Christian Constantin had requested a provisional reinstatement before the Europa League group stage kicks off on Sept. 15.
UEFA's disciplinary panel upheld Celtic's protest that Sion selected five players signed in the offseason in last month's two playoff-round matches between the two teams.
That was in breach of a FIFA transfer embargo.
Celtic takes Sion's place in the competition.
