UN agency forecasts rain for southern Somalia

The U.N. weather agency forecasts a possible return of rainfall in famine-hit southern Somalia for the rest of the year.
The World Meteorological Organization said Wednesday this might not significantly erase the drought affecting these areas.
That's because, according to the WMO's statement, the rainfall from this season provides a relatively small proportion of the annual total.
WMO says that northern Somalia and its adjoining region face a risk of continued bellow-normal rainfall until the end of the year.
