Cedric Heymans says it would be "a grave mistake" for France to fiddle with team selection against New Zealand with a view to resting key players for its potentially decisive last World Cup pool match against Tonga.
Two-time finalist France opens its bid to win the World Cup for the first time against Japan on Saturday, then plays Canada before taking on the All Blacks and Tonga.
France coach Marc Lievremont said before the tournament that the danger match was Tonga, and that _ while still looking to be competitive _ he may pick his team against New Zealand with the last group game in mind.
But Heymans, who starts at fullback against Japan, says easing up against the All Blacks "would be an enormous danger" for France.
