Boks skipper Smit to join Saracens after World Cup

English rugby champions Saracens has signed record-breaking South Africa captain John Smit.
Saracens says on its website that the 2007 World Cup-winning hooker will join after the next edition of the event in New Zealand.
The 33-year-old Smit says he is "delighted to have signed for a club widely renowned for the ferocious work ethic and spirit on the field and for the unique way it treats people off the field."
Smit has captained the Springboks a record 76 times in his 102 tests and is set to retire from international rugby after his third World Cup.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall says the club is "absolutely thrilled to have signed one of the most prominent and admired players in world rugby."
