9/11 victims' names to be read, memorial opened

The names of all the Sept. 11 victims will be read for the first time during a ceremony in New York City on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
Besides the names of those killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, relatives will read the names of those lost in terrorist plane crashes at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. They also will read the names of the victims of the 1993 trade center bombing.
In all, 2,983 names will be read.
President Barack Obama is to attend the ceremony, which also marks the opening of the national Sept. 11 memorial to relatives of the victims on Sept. 11, and to the public the next day.
