Athletic Bilbao's preseason camp gathered Monday without new coach Marcelo Bielsa.
Bielsa will arrive Wednesday so trainer Luis Maria Bonini welcomed players back to the club's Lezama training ground.
Defender Andoni Iraiola says the team is motivated by the Argentine coach's arrival, believing Bielsa "wants to take the initiative early in the games and pressure higher up."
Bilbao, whose team is made up entirely of homegrown Basque players, will play in the Europa League this season and has one of the most talented squads in Spain with four players featuring in the country's victory at the under-21 European championship.
The former Chile and Argentina coach worked in Spain in 2002 with a six-week stint at Espanyol.
