Also the Memorial winner last month, Stricker has 11 US PGA Tour victories _ seven in the last three seasons. ... Top-ranked Luke Donald won the rain-shortened Scottish Open, closing with a 9-under 63 for a four-stroke victory at Castle Stuart.

In 2003 at Royal St. George, Ben Curtis won in his first start in a major, beating Thomas Bjorn and Vijay Singh by a stroke. Bjorn got a spot in the field Monday when Singh withdrew. ... Greg Norman won in 1993 at the course, the first links in England to hold the British Open.

Last week: So Yeon Ryu won the rain-delayed U.S. Women's Open in a Monday finish, beating South Korean rival Hee Kyung Seo by three shots in a three-hole playoff at the Broadmoor. Ryu birdied the final hole of regulation to tie Seo, who finished Sunday at 3-under 281.
