De Villiers 'excited' to take young Boks on tour

South Africa coach Peter de Villiers says he's excited to take his inexperienced Springboks to Australia and New Zealand in the Tri-Nations and doesn't care about the reaction there to his second-string squad.
De Villiers said on Tuesday the young group was "a Springbok team that is going to compete."
The Boks coach also said "I don't read the papers ... I don't care about what's happening in Australia," when asked if he was surprised at the questions raised over his weakened squad.
South Africa left 21 top players out for the away games because of injury, prompting Australia to seek assurances from southern hemisphere rugby body SANZAR that the injuries were legitimate.
SANZAR said it was satisfied that the injury list was genuine.
