Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Patterns for active weather will persist across most of Asia on Wednesday. Low pressure over southern China will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms. This system will affect southern and southeastern China, with the heaviest rainfall over Kunming during the late evening hours.
To the north, low pressure over Mongolia will bring scattered showers and clouds to northeastern China. At the same time, a storm system will move northeasterly from the Yellow Sea into the Korean peninsula, bringing heavy to moderate showers and thunderstorms. Expect the strongest storms over Seoul during the morning.
Beijing will be mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms and highs in the low 30s Celsius. In Japan, a broad area of high pressure positioned over the northern Pacific Ocean will produce mostly sunny skies across most of the country. However, this system will also push warm, moist air onshore, kicking up isolated showers in eastern and western Japan. Tokyo will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 30s C.
In Australia, high pressure over the Great Australian Bight will bring sunny and mild conditions to most of the country. However, this system will also push moderate to light showers over the central portion of Australia. To the east, a large low pressure system to the south of New Zealand will bring coastal showers to Victoria and New South Wales. This system will also contribute to moderate to light rainfall over Tasmania and New Zealand.
