Brazil minister calls for sex tour investigation

The Brazilian minister for women's affairs is looking into allegations of sexual tourism in the country.
The minister, Iriny Lopes, said Monday they would investigate accusations that a U.S. company promoting Amazon fishing expeditions served as cover for sexual exploitation of underage girls. The U.S. Justice Department is also conducting a criminal investigation.
A federal law suit was filed in June in Georgia in the name of four Brazilian women claiming the operator coerced them to perform sex acts with tourists. The girls were between 12 and 17 when the alleged acts took place.
The complaint says Richard Schair operated Wet-A-Line Tours until 2009. Schair told The Associated Press at the time the claims were a "quest by a competitor to ruin" him.
