Burkina Faso government replaces its governors

Burkina Faso's government says it has replaced governors in all of its 13 regions.
A statement released by the government Thursday, a day after a Cabinet meeting, says three senior army officers have been appointed as governors in a major reshuffle aimed at calming protests in the West African country.
Last week the government sent troops to quell the most recent mutiny by soldiers who were shooting and looting for days in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso. A military official said at least seven people were killed in the exchange of gunfire.
Burkina Faso has seen unrest by soldiers, teachers and students demanding better living conditions, justice and an end to impunity since February.
In April, President Blaise Compaore dissolved the government and removed the country's security chiefs, but kept himself in power.
