Calif. US House race headed for runoff

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn has advanced to a runoff in the election to fill Democratic Rep. Jane Harman's Southern California congressional seat, but the race for second place is too close to say who Hahn's opponent will be.
With all precincts reporting, Hahn led the other 15 candidates in Tuesday's election with 24.6 percent of the vote.
Another Democrat, California Secretary of State Debra Bowen, had 21.8 percent, and Republican businessman Craig Huey had 21.4 percent. Only 206 votes separate Bowen and Huey, with an unknown number of mail-in and provisional ballots yet to be counted.
The top two finishers advance to a July 12 runoff.
Harman resigned in February to head a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.
