Perth Heat to represent Australia in Asia series

Perth Heat, the inaugural Australian Baseball League champions, will play in the Asia Series tournament against teams from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China in November.
South Korea, Japan and Taiwan are ranked third, fourth and fifth in the world respectively. First played in 2005 to determine the best team in the region, the Asia Series sees the title-winning teams from each of the country's professional leagues compete in the round-robin tournament beginning Nov. 25 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The championship game is on Nov. 29, the ABL said Wednesday.
The Australian league is financially backed by Major League Baseball in the United States and the Australian Baseball Federation.
