Envoy: US to decide on food aid talks with NKorea

A senior U.S. envoy says Washington will soon decide whether to send officials to North Korea for talks on food aid.
South Korean media have reported that the United States plans to send its envoy for North Korean human rights to Pyongyang next week to discuss how to make sure any aid gets to the hungry and not to the isolated communist country's military and elite.
The U.S. special envoy for North Korea policy Stephen Bosworth told reporters Tuesday that Washington will make a decision on the visit in the next few days.
He says he had good talks with South Korean officials earlier Tuesday on North Korea's request for help.
The U.N. said earlier this year that 475,000 tons of food is necessary for 6.1 million vulnerable people in North Korea.
