India's star player doesn't make WNBA cut

It looks like India's top female basketball player won't be playing for the WNBA this season.
Geethu Anna Jose was the first player from her country to be invited to WNBA tryouts. During a recent U.S. tour she tried out for the Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks and San Antonio Silver Stars.
Spokesmen for all three teams confirmed Monday that the 6-foot-2 Jose hasn't been invited back for preseason training camp.
Sparks spokesman Ben Alkaly says coaches were impressed with Jose's fundamentals but the team's roster already had a lot of forwards.
Geethu told The Associated Press before the tryouts that playing for the WNBA would fulfill her lifelong dream. The 25-year-old didn't immediately respond Monday to a request for comment.
Jose, who also played professionally in Australia, hails from the southern Indian state of Kerala.
