2 Dominicans killed during protests

Two people have been fatally shot and at least eight have been wounded during clashes between protesters and police in a northern Dominican city this week.
Activists said 32-year-old Joel Martinez died from gunshot wounds on Tuesday during a protest over unfulfilled government promises to fix streets and build a grammar school in San Francisco de Macoris.
On Wednesday, 22-year-old student Aquiles Nunez was fatally shot by a stray bullet while she traveled in a bus near the protest site.
Police said hooded men attacked the bus, but activists claim an officer killed Nunez.
Police commanders have launched a commission to investigate the circumstances in which the two Dominicans died.
