Brazil nabs 1 of traffickers who used govt plane

Police say they've arrested the last suspect of a drug-trafficking ring that 12 years ago used a Brazilian Air Force cargo plane to fly cocaine to Europe.
Federal Police inspector Fabio Andrade said Tuesday that Jose Roberto Monteiro Zau was arrested Sunday as he left his mother's home in Rio de Janeiro.
Andrade says Zau had returned several months ago from Portugal and had received the drug shipments and redistributed them in Europe.
In 1999, police in the northeastern Brazilian city of Recife seized 73 pounds (33 kilograms) of cocaine aboard a Hercules C-130 plane bound for Spain.
Five people, including two Air Force officers, one woman and a U.S. man suspected of leading the gang, were arrested and are currently in jail in Rio de Janeiro.
