Gunmen kill newspaper journalist in Brazil

Brazilian police say gunmen shot and killed the owner of a newspaper that criticized a small city government in Sao Paulo state.
Police inspector Marco Antonio Alves says gunmen shot 48-year-old Valerio Nascimento twice in the back and once in the head Tuesday in his front yard. He said it was unclear how many gunmen were involved.
Alves said Wednesday that police were looking into the possibility that Nascimento's murder was connected to reporting in his Panorama Geral newspaper that denounced the city of Bananal for its alleged lack of investments in health and sewage treatment centers.
He said the crime could have been politically motivated but that police haven't discarded other possible motives.
