Bahrain's state news agency says seven anti-government protesters will go on trial before a military court for the killing of two policemen.
Monday's announcement is the latest development in the ongoing crackdown on the Shiite-led opposition in this Sunni-ruled kingdom.
The Bahrain News Agency says a military prosecutor has charged seven suspected opposition supporters with "premeditated murder of a government employee."
BNA says they were charged on Sunday. Another hearing is set for Tuesday.
Bahrain imposed martial law last month in attempts to crush the Shiite uprising in the tiny island Gulf nation that hosts the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet.
Hundreds of protesters and activists have been detained in the crackdown.
