Berlin Philharmonic plans concert for Japan

Berlin's Philharmonic and Staatskapelle orchestras _ complete with conductors Simon Rattle and Daniel Barenboim _ will play a benefit concert next week for victims of Japan's earthquake and tsunami.
The Philharmonic said Tuesday that the event will be staged March 29 at its concert hall in Berlin.
Rattle will lead the Philharmonic's performance of Brahms' Symphony No. 4 and Barenboim will conduct the Staatskapelle as it plays Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6.
All ticket proceeds will go to Japan through the United Nations Children's Fund. Those who can't get to Berlin can listen to a webcast of the performance, whose proceeds also will benefit Japan.
