Barcelona defender Dani Alves has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the Spanish club until the end of the 2014-15 season.
Since joining from Sevilla at the beginning of the 2008 season, the Brazil international has played a key role in helping Barcelona to a number of major trophies, including the 2009 Champions League title and back-to-back Spanish league championships.
Alves has scored 10 league goals in 2 1/2 seasons for Barcelona.
Barcelona, which announced the agreement on Tuesday, is five points ahead of second-place Real Madrid in the Spanish league.
