Dutch government: Libya knew of secret evacuation

The Dutch government says Libyan forces were somehow tipped off about its covert plan to evacuate a Dutch worker from Sirte last month, that lead to the capture of a navy helicopter and its crew.
Forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi captured three marines and their Lynx helicopter in a stronghold of the Libyan leader's supporters Feb 27. The marines were released unharmed after 12 days.
The prior knowledge meant that "the element of surprise was lost," the foreign and defense ministers wrote in a letter to Parliament, detailing the botched mission for the first time.
Dutch lawmakers said Tuesday they want to question Prime Minister Mark Rutte and the ministers next week about the failed evacuation.
