Michel Platini gets 4 more years as UEFA President

UEFA President Michel Platini has been given a second four-year term as head of the European governing body.
The former France captain was unopposed at the UEFA Congress after proving popular among Europe's 53 footballing nations.
Platini has opened up UEFA's marquee European Championship and Champions League competitions to more mid-ranking teams. He also introduced financial rules designed to curb clubs' reckless spending.
Platini now pledges to tackle the "scourges" of violence in stadiums and match-fixing linked to betting rings.
Platini's re-election was watched by FIFA President Sepp Blatter and his challenger Mohamed bin Hammam. They will be contesting the FIFA presidential election in June.
