Australian batsman Mike Hussey says Ricky Ponting is the best man to lead the team and has the backing of all its players.
Answering questions Tuesday, two days before the World Cup quarterfinal against India, Hussey played down reports that Ponting would lose the captaincy after the tournament.
He says Ponting "has been our leader and has the full support of the team".
Ponting has led Australia to victory in the last two World Cups and had been unbeaten as captain in the tournament before a four-wicket loss to Pakistan in the last group match on the weekend.
