Taiwan boats in Japan waters face radiation checks

Taiwanese officials say fishing boats returning from seas near Japan will have their catches inspected for radiation.
Fishery Bureau official Tsai Ji-yao says fishermen have already been told to stay away from Japanese waters and the inspection will insure that any possible loopholes are closed.
Taiwan has close trade ties with Japan. That's why Taiwanese are wary about radiation leakage from Japan's tsunami-stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi plant.
On Tuesday, Taiwan also began to inspect fish, seaweed and dairy products imported from Japan.
